Issue:
Users are provided a 1 year subscription to ConteraWS when they purchase equipment. They need to know what functionality will be lost after the subscription expires.
Resolution:
If a subscription is not renewed, the below functionality will be lost. The below bullets are how users would need to perform these functions.
- Centralized User Management
- Any users that were previously created with ConteraWS will immediately loose access.
- Users and roles must be manually created on each system.
- Contera Mobile
- ConteraWS accounts will no longer have access to their systems.
- Port forwarding will need to be setup. Click here.
- Health Monitoring
- Users will need to go to Setup > General Configuration > Cameras and verify devices are recording.
- Users will need to physically check the front of the unit for any failed (red) HDD's.
- Users will need to go to Setup > General Configuration > System Settings > Storage to verify the volume is recording.
- Alerts and Reports
- Macros will need to be created for alerts (i.e. when Motion is detected in the camera a relay will trigger).
- You will need to go into the cameras web page and specify what happens when a relay occurs.
- Not all camera relays support an SMTP function. Verify with your specific camera that this function is supported.
- Users will need to parse through the data manually by going to Setup > Tools / Logs > Log Files.
- Macros will need to be created for alerts (i.e. when Motion is detected in the camera a relay will trigger).
- Single Sign On
- Individual user accounts must be created on each system.
- Clip Sharing
- Users will need to login and export video using a thick (ConteraVMS installed on a PC) or thin client (web based). It will need to be copied to a USB and provided to relevant authorities.
