By default, administrators can download and install server software updates remotely through Web Services. Updates can also be performed manually via selected files or custom URLs. If an update is available, the user will see a message along with an option to install. The message will display the updated version and whether the update is optional, recommended, or critical.
Note: It's strongly recommended not to update the Recorder server firmware if No ConteraWS is availible.
Update via ConteraWS Cloud Portal
- In the ConteraWS Cloud Portal, navigate to the Recorder List under the Management tab > Recorders > Recorders.
- Find the desired recorder in the Recorder List and view if there is an updated version available under Version Available. The page icon next to the version number links to the Release Notes for that update. The severity of the update (optional, recommended, or critical) can also be seen by hovering over the icon next to the version number.
- Click Install if an update is available.
NOTE: The server software checks for updates on startup - every 6 hours or when the Check for Update link is clicked.
Update via the Web Client
- In ConteraWS, find the Recorder Name under Web Connect, and click Connect.
- Click Setup, and then System Settings under General Configuration.
- Click the Software Upgrade tab.
- Click the Check for Update link.
- Click Install if an update is available.
NOTE: The recorder checks for updates on startup, every 6 hours or when the Check for Update link is clicked.
Update via Manually Selected File
- In ConteraWS, find the Recorder Name under Web Connect, and click Connect.
- Click Setup, and then click System Settings under General Configuration.
- Click the Software Upgrade tab.
- Click Show More Options.
- Click Select File then navigate to the location of the .ssp or .exe upgrade file.
- Click Install.
NOTE: Do not leave this page until the update is complete.
Update via Custom URL
- In ConteraWS, find the Recorder Name under Web Connect, and click Connect.
- Click Setup, and then click System Settings under General Configuration.
- Click the Software Upgrade tab.
- Click Show More Options.
- Click Specify URL.
- Specify the URL where the upgrade file is located.
- Click Install.
NOTE: Do not leave this page until the update is complete.
